R&A has no plans to stage future championships at Trump-owned Turnberry Golf Course


The group oversees The Open Championship, which is the world’s oldest males’s main golf championship, in addition to the Girls’s British Open, amongst others.

“We had no plans to stage any of our championships at Turnberry and won’t achieve this within the foreseeable future,” R&A Chief Government Martin Slumbers mentioned in an announcement.

“We won’t return till we’re satisfied that the main target shall be on the championship, the gamers and the course itself and we don’t consider that’s achievable within the present circumstances.”

Turnberry is considered one of two high-profile programs outgoing US President Donald Trump owns in Scotland, the opposite being the Trump Worldwide Golf Hyperlinks located amid the dunes of Aberdeen.
