Marion Ramsey, ‘Police Academy’ and Broadway star, dies at 73


“Marion carried along with her a kindness and permeating gentle that immediately stuffed a room upon her arrival. The dimming of her gentle is already felt by those that knew her effectively. We are going to miss her, and at all times love her,” the assertion mentioned.

Born in Philadelphia, Ramsey’s leisure profession began on stage. She co-starred in Broadway exhibits, together with productions of “Eubie!” and “Grind,” and toured the nation within the musical “Good day Dolly.”

Ramsey started her method into tv with a visitor position on the hit sequence “The Jeffersons,” and was an everyday in “Cos,” the Invoice Cosby sketch comedy sequence.

Marion Ramsey starred in six of the "Police Academy" films.

Her most well-known position was within the 1984 film “Police Academy” as Officer Hooks, whose soft-spoken demeanor was punctuated by memorable outbursts. Ramsey starred in 5 extra “Police Academy” movies via the 1980s.

She began voice performing in “The Addams Household” cartoon sequence from the early 1990s, which aired for 2 seasons.

Ramsey was deeply dedicated to AIDS consciousness and lent her voice for charitable causes, performing in “Divas Merely Singing,” an annual fundraising occasion.

Later in her TV and movie profession, she had visitor appearances on Grownup Swim exhibits “Robotic Rooster” and “Tim and Eric Superior Present, Nice Job!”

In 2015, she reunited with “Coverage Academy” stars Steve Guttenberg and Michael Winslow within the Syfy camp film “Lavalantula” and its sequel “2 Lava 2 Lantula!” the next 12 months. Her ultimate performing position was within the 2018 indie movie “After I Sing.”

She is survived by her three brothers.
